The Oh Crap! Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by the Canada Science and Technology Museum, operating under the name Ingenium (the "Sponsor"). The Contest starts at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time  on April 15, 2024, and closes at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time on December 15, 2024 (the “Contest Period”).  By entering the Contest, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these contest rules (the “Official Rules”). 

ELIGIBILITY:

The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada who, at the time of entry and at the Contest Closing Date, have reached the age of majority in their province of residence (each an “Eligible Entrant”). 

The following individuals are not eligible to enter the Contest: employees, representatives and agents (and their immediate families (i.e., spouses, siblings, children, spouses’ parents, and the spouses of any of those individuals) and their household members whether related or not) of the Sponsor and its affiliated entities, advertising/promotion agencies, and any other individual(s), entity or entities otherwise involved in or connected with the development, implementation, fulfilment, sponsoring, or administering the Contest (collectively, the “Sponsor Parties”).

HOW TO ENTER:

During the Contest Period, Eligible Entrants must complete the required fields as directed (the “Contest Submission”). 

As part of its Contest Submission, an Eligible Entrant will be eligible to collect “golden poop(s)” on the Oh Crap! Web application and will automatically be eligible to receive one (1) entry into the Contest (an “Eligible Entry”) by collecting a minimum of 10 golden poop that the Eligible Entrant collected on the Oh Crap! Web application. Online access is required in order to enter the Contest.   

A limit of one (1) Contest Submission and one (1) Eligible Entry are permitted per Eligible Entrant during the Contest Period.

PRIZES:

All Eligible Entries will be entered into multiple draws for a chance to win a family pass for the Canada Science and Technology Museum (the “Prize”). There are seven (7) Prizes available to be won during the Contest Period. 

A limit of one (1) Prize per Eligible Entrant is permitted during the Contest Period. The approximate retail value of each Prize is $49 CAD. 

The following general conditions apply to each Prize: (i) Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable, assignable or convertible to cash (except as may be specifically permitted by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); (ii) no substitutions are permitted, except at the Sponsor’s option; (iii) the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of such Prize is unavailable with a prize or prize component(s) of equal or greater retail value, including, without limitation, but solely at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, a cash award; (iv) all characteristics and features of the Prize, except as otherwise explicitly stated above, are at the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion; (v) Prize winner is solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein; and (vi) family passes are subject to all of the terms and conditions as stated by the issuer. 

Neither the Sponsor nor the Sponsor Parties makes any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of any Prize awarded in connection with the Contest. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, each confirmed winner understands and acknowledges that he or she may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from either the Sponsor or any of the Sponsor Parties should his/her Prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any way unsatisfactory.  

PRIZE DRAW:

Prizes will be awarded through a random draw process at the Sponsor’s office, located at 1867 St Laurent Blvd, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 5A3. Monthly random prize draws (the “Draws”) will be held throughout the Contest Period with Draws taking place on the following dates (each a “Draw Date”):

• June 9^th, 2024;
• July 14^th, 2024;
• August 11^th, 2024; 
• September 15^th, 2024;
• October 13^th, 2024; 
• November 17^th, 2024; and 
• December 16^th, 2024. 

On each Draw Date one (1) potential Prize winner will be selected from among all Eligible Entries received no later than 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time on the day before each respective Draw Date. All Eligible Entries and Eligible Entrants are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Official Rules prior to the applicable Draw. The number of Prizes available will decrease throughout the Contest Period. For greater certainty, any unselected Eligible Entries will carry over into any subsequent draw(s) (as determined by the Sponsor at its sole discretion).

WINNER NOTIFICATION:

The Sponsor will attempt to contact the selected entrants by email within forty-eight (48) hours of the Draw Date. 

Before being declared a winner, each selected Eligible Entrant will be required to answer a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question and sign a release and waiver form confirming, without limitation, that they: 

• complied with the eligibility requirements; 
• have read these Official Rules and complied completely; 
• accept the Prize as-awarded; 
• acknowledges the Contest Sponsor’s right to publish their name and city of residence as a winner of the Prize; 
• successfully answered a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question; 
• release and agree to hold harmless of all liability the Contest Sponsor and its subsidiaries and affiliates, advertising, promotional agencies and each of the foregoing entities’ directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents;
• agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Released Parties (defined below) from and against any and all claims, expenses and liabilities (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to an entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or entrant’s acceptance, use or misuse of Prize

If a selected Eligible Entrant fails to comply with the eligibility criteria, incorrectly answers the mathematical skill-testing question, or fails to sign and return the Sponsor’s release form within seventy-two (72 hours) of notification, an alternate selected Eligible Entrant will be selected by way of random Draw.

GENERAL:

By entering the Contest, Eligible Entrants agree to abide and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of the Contest. All disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Contest will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.

GENERAL LIABILITY RELEASE/FORCE MAJEURE:

The Sponsor and the Sponsor Parties and each of their respective agents, employees, representatives, directors, officers, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) will not be responsible for, and accept no liability whatsoever in relation to, any late, lost, delayed, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, damaged, or undeliverable Eligible Entries, Contest Submissions, and/or any other Contest-related information (collectively, “Contest-Related Information”), all of which are void, or for any delay or failure to transmit, process, receive or consider Contest-Related Information.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: The Released Parties shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting directly or indirectly from an Eligible Entrant’s participation in the Contest (including, without limitation, an Eligible Entrant’s participation in the Contest Submission) or an Eligible Entrant’s receipt, use, or redemption of any Prize(s), or an Eligible Entrant’s inability to receive, use or redeem any Prize(s). The Released Parties will not be liable to an Eligible Entrant for any indirect, special, consequential, or punitive damages in connection with the Contest or these Official Rules. By entering this Contest, Eligible Entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, liability or losses of any kind in connection with the Contest or, if declared a winner, the Prize awarded and use thereof.

The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, extend, suspend, or terminate the Contest if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Contest is technically impaired or corrupted, or otherwise not capable of running as planned for any reason. The Sponsor also reserves the right to disqualify or ban any individual or Eligible Participant that it finds or believes to be in violation of these Official Rules or applicable law. Harassment, abuse, or disruptive behavior of any kind toward other participants or Sponsor Parties will not be tolerated. If due to printing, production, online, internet, computer or other error of any kind, more Prizes are claimed than intended to be distributed or awarded according to these Official Rules then, in addition to having the right to terminate the Contest immediately, in its sole and absolute discretion, the Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a random drawing from amongst all eligible Prize claimants whose claims have not yet been redeemed to award the correct number of Prizes at the applicable prizing level (as stated in these Official Rules). The Prizes may stop being awarded in the event the Sponsor becomes aware of such an error.  In no event will the Sponsor be liable to award more than the number of Prizes (at any prizing level), as provided in these Official Rules. 

APPLICABLE LAW: 

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of an Eligible Participant in connection with the Contest, shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.

USE OF INFORMATION:

By entering the Contest and/or accepting a Prize, each Eligible Entrant consents to the use of their information for the administration of this Contest.

PRIVACY:

The Sponsor respects each individual’s right to privacy. Personal information collected from Eligible Entrants will only be used by the Sponsor to administer the Contest. By entering the Contest, all Eligible Entrants consent to the manner of collection, use, and disclosure of personal information as set out in the Sponsor’s privacy policy.
